Hi everyone!
You can now connect Linear to Akiflow to Import all your Linear tasks in Akiflow!
Automatically synchronize your task information, including status, title, priority, and due date.

Wrote a bit about this in slack a while ago...
Core idea is to synch tasks exactly the way it works in Notion, ideally matching a bit more fields: projects, due date, priority, and even size: would be good to associate it with a tag in Akiflow. A very nice feature would be to be able to plan the task according to the corresponding sprint in Linear, and vice versa (e.g. if I replan a task in Akiflow for next week, it should be matched to the corresponding sprint in Linear)
This is my old zap integration: https://zapier.com/shared/dfe7417d97c2204f2e5f6d00a3a4472b1213db51
I used the issue sizing in notion as a benchmark to estimate a duration of the task in Akiflow - I thought it was pretty neat, would be good to have it in the integration.

Hi everyone, we're starting to work on the Linear integration!
Any insights you can share with me on how you use Linear (which tasks would you like to import in Akiflow)?
Thanks,
Stefania

Stefania Essentially all tasks assigned to me. Bidirectional sync is very important! Very similar to Notion integration we need to be able to select what happens on completing an item in Akiflow (which status to move to). Due date might come from the "due date" in Linear or the SLA

Stefania I would like tickets that are assigned to me and have certain statuses to appear in my inbox, similar to the Slack integration. I would love it if I could get the branch name from within Akiflow. The o key would take me to the Linear page.
It would be great if it worked seamlessly with time slots, where I can designate which tickets I will work on within a certain time slot. This will be a huge feature for me!

Stefania I agree with the other replies, only tasks that are assigned to me are relevant. At the latest, when I start working on a ticket, I assign it to me and set the status to "In Progress".
In Linear, I have a Kanban-like board set up with assigned tickets, grouped by priority and within each column, it's sorted by size estimate. Having something similar in Akiflow directly could be extremely useful to select relevant tasks for oneself.
Our Linear status is automatically synced with GitHub (native Linear feature), meaning each PR is auto-linked to all tickets it implements. As soon as the PR is created, tickets are auto-changed to "In Review". It'd be very useful if Akiflow could display that status somehow, or maybe even link the PR. But that also means, that I often don't need to change the ticket status manually, except for when I start working on it. So the "completed" checkbox that Akiflow displays on every task would be useless in most cases, it'd be great if we could hide that within the calendar view for Linear tasks.
I don't know if you want/can go as far as to add a full "view ticket description, comments, etc." within Akiflow, but I suspect that's out of scope. So practically, I would probably keep the Linear App open alongside Akiflow, just to see the full information about each ticket. With that workflow, it would be extremely handy to see a quick list of "In Progress" + "Assigned to me" tasks in Akiflow, for when I start working on a ticket. That way, I could just set a ticket to "In Progress" after checking the full description + comments and get it suggested in Akiflow to timebox it immediately, without having to search for it or anything.
Thank you for listening to community feedback, I think if at least some of the ideas in this thread get implemented, it might easily be the most useful Linear integration in the Calendar/Task tooling space.

Alan Vardy: Hi Alan, can you tell me more about the "certain statuses"?Would you import all the undone tasks or do you have few statuses you use for tasks assigned to you?
Stefania
Dennis: Thank you so much Dennis for taking the time to share this!
We'll for sure give you the possibility to import only issues assigned to you with some filters (project, teams, etc). We're considering how deep we can go with the import customization, as you can immagine it can be very complex but we can always improve it in the future as well. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and need, I really appreciate it!:)

Stefania Sure! I often have a lot of work that is assigned to me but is not going to be done in the immediate future. So I need a way to differentiate between those tasks and things that are going to be done much sooner. I often use the backlog status to signify the former and todo status to signify the latter. In the past I’ve also used low priority to show that a task is not to be performed any time soon.

To elaborate on the thinking behind this, my Akiflow calendar is where I timeblock my whole life and bring sanity to the choas that is the world outside my door. Anyone can assign a ticket to me at any time and I want to make sure that the Linear tickets that come in are ones that I actually intend on working on. I think that I don't have too strong an opinion on how to designate them as being important enough to deserve their space on my calendar, as long as there are levers available for me to do so! Some combination of being able to select which statuses and priorities appear would be excellent.
I would also like the option of not syncing sub-issues.
Stefania
Alan Vardy: Thank you so much for sharing, this is very interesting!

I want to be able to filter which issues get synced to Akiflow:
- Issues assigned to me but from the Backlog workflow type should not be synced;
- Issues assigned to me from the Unstarted and Started should be synced
- Issues that I mark as completed in Akiflow would be marked as Completed in Linear
Using the workflow types (Backlog, Unstarted, Started, Completed) is better since they don't differ between Teams in Linear. (Each team can have several "columns/statuses" in each workflow type).
It's important that the issue may already be created but only assigned to me later. The "link" should be established for a "updated issue" event.
Also, when I plan the task on my calendar, I'd like for it NOT to update the Linear task. It is my planning, not something to have my team to be confused at (I will move it around several times).
Speaking of which, it's common to have a Linear issue to demand several days of work. Not sure how I could plan it as I do with my Akiflow tasks (moving it in a day or time slot).
Stefania
George: Thank you so much for sharing this George, I'm sure the integration will be helpful for your use case! For now you can either move the task or duplicate it (keeping the original one as the last to mark as done).

Hi Stefania! I'm super excited this is happening. I think Morgen has an amazing Linear implementation that would be my reference for Akiflow.
Off the top of my head:
Two-way sync
Probably only want tickets not in backlog
Ability to configure clicking "done" in Akiflow action (example: moves to code review, or moves to complete)
In Akiflow, I would like to see ticket name and number, tag (bug, feature), and linked project (basically how Morgen does it)
I would also like to be able to click the task in Akiflow and get the description of the ticket and a link to the ticket in Linear.
Stefania
Mike Fisher: Thank you so much for sharing Mike, the integration will have most of your requests!

I'm really looking forward to this integration!
But seems no action has been taken on this even tho it's marked as planned.
Stefania
Nicolas Duchemin: We're actually starting to work on it soon :)
