Time Slots: Show total tasks time in slots

As a feature, can we see how much of a time block has been filled up as we add tasks to it.

Love this idea! Another way is to have the Time Slot retain the calendar layout inside them instead of turning tasks into a list. Time Slots would be more of a dotted boarder in the calendar. But if you turn on a Time Slot's focus mode (which I love) they could be in list form.

Better visibility of time allocation within Time Slots

Once I set a Time Slot and begin adding in tasks with time durations it would be great to have a visual indicator within the Time Slot that I can easily tell the accumulated time of all tasks within the Time Slot vs the Time Slot duration.
For example:
- Create Time Slot and set to a 2 hour block
- Add in a task with 30 min duration, visual indicator shows 30 minutes out of 2 hours allocated
- I then add in a task with 90 min duration, visual indicator shows 2 hours out of 2 hours allocated
- I then add in a task with a 60 min duration, visual indicator clearly shows the estimated time to complete all tasks within the time slot, exceeds the Time Slot duration so I can take action and adjust
This would be great as currently I don’t really have a clear idea of if I have too many tasks added into a Time Slot or if I need to extend the duration of the Time Slot.

Hi Elias Bennett! Thank you for sharing this thoughtful feature request! A visual indicator to track accumulated task time within a Time Slot sounds like a valuable addition. We appreciate your feedback and will keep it in mind for future improvements.

Display Total Estimated Hours in Time Slots
I
Ivan Lopez
Currently, time slots do not show the total estimated hours for the tasks within them, making it difficult to compare whether the planned workload fits within the allocated time. It would be incredibly useful if Akiflow displayed the total hours assigned to each time slot, allowing for better scheduling and preventing overloading a time block with more tasks than it can realistically accommodate. Would you consider adding this feature in a future update?

we hear you and thanks for this request :) we'll def let you know if we work on this!

I came to this board specifically to find this feature request (assuming it already existed) and +1 it.
I love the time block feature. It works with the way my brain works. However, It's way too easy to have a 2 hour time block that I've put 4 hours worth of tasks inside.
What if the task block changed colors or popped up a warning when it's over-filled?
I'd also love if it could auto-suggest tasks that can put inside based on project, priority, and allotted time.

Judi: That sounds fantastic! We’ll share these details with our team as they work on enhancing the timeslot feature.

+1 on this. My thought was a percentage indicator on bottom right that shows, for instance, 50% if 2x 15min tasks are in a 60min stack / time slot.

Hi Justin: That sounds incredibly good! We'll pass this details to our team for additional info once they're putting efforts on improving the timeslot feature.

This would be super helpful. Also, the option to have an alert if I've over-allocated tasks to a slot (i.e. total duration of the tasks I've added to the slot exceeds the slot length)

Allannah Jackson: Thank you for your feedback! We'll pass this along to the team for consideration as we continue to refine and improve Akiflow.

Alternative idea as well: sometimes i create slot for an hour and work on tasks and don't estimate them prior. After i've done work, there could be 3 or 5 or even 10 tasks. I would like a button to divide this hour between tasks, or maybe mark whole slot as "spent on project". Otherwise statistics is not perfect (slot for hour can contain 2 hours of work etc).
Jeson P
Vladislav: Thanks for this! Just a QQ, do you mean to evenly divide the time slot duration to the completed tasks within the slot? The idea isn't clear for me, sorry!

Vladislav
Jeson P yes, exactly.

Vladislav: Got it! Thank you for confirming! :)
