I love this idea! Right now I create tasks in Airtable that move to the inbox in Akiflow to plan my day. I still need a tool like Airtable to do time tracking, but if that were added to Akiflow, I would be able to remove that step in Airtable and plan right from Akiflow.

I like this idea! ❤
After trying Sunsama, Morgen, Trello and various other tools I love Akiflow so much - mainly because of the time slot functionality that makes the difference to all other apps: Knowing which evening block is allocated for which area of my life having various engagements that are now nicely clubbed together. And putting the individual tasks into the blocks with the possibility to move the whole block or get the remaining tasks automatically rescheduled makes so much ore sense for me.
Time tracking in Sunsama is great indeed.
My current workaround for time tracking in Akiflow (as a guy interested in life management rather than task management) is this:
I block my whole days and weeks using the super-useful recurring time slots. My aim is to know how I spent all 24hrs and 24/7 weeks. As the time slot duration is not counted in the statistics I add in every slot at least one task of the same project (in my case life area) with the total time.
When executing I tick-off the tasks and I re-arrange the start time and durations according to the actuals (that's my time way of tracking). If I finished a time slot I correct the durations of the individal tasks as well or I add urgent surprises if needed. If I get distracted by something I add a task allocated to the project "fun and hobbies" if it was intended or "time waster / social media / games" if it was too much of a distraction.
At the end of the day I make sure the sum of my tasks (not calendar events) is 24hrs. The calendar events I don't count because as far as I know I can't allocate a project to them. This may be a request to improve: allowing the project allocation not only to tasks but to events as well.
Thank you soo much!

or integrate toggl track with Akiflow (https://track.toggl.com)

It would be fantastic to have a way to add time worked on an Akiflow or external task (eg Clickup), even when the task isn't completed. Perhaps add a 'shadow copy' of the task to Akiflow calendar. When you finish working on the task for the day, leave a record on the calendar (Shadow copy), and then reschedule the task for further work.

An integration with the time tracker Rize would be great for this.

James Bertram: Is there any specific feature in Rize you like? We'd love to know!

Would love to be able to just have Akiflow open as my project management/calendar/task tool, but without a Time Tracking feature I also have to either have Clickup, Toggl, or Google Calendar open in a browser to track my tasks. That being said- Akiflow already connects to such a variety of tools; "Time Tracker" integrations would be so helpful to add to the list.

Currently, we have small portion under "tasklist" for taks done with the amount of time for each task and events. Akiflow's feature on how much time it took to complete a task is useful but I find that we are lacking in showing the trends of how and where our time is being allocated. Generally, showing trends on how our time was allocated for the week is more useful than merely showing the day itself.

I would think having a light AI function that would go back into an available LLM to guestimate task timeframe would be interesting. For instance: My task might be "Build 12 page Deck for client on results of AI security effort" It might say something like " this task will have several subtasks that will be an average of 1/2 hour each. Here is the breakdown. (It would then pull down the tasks that have been prompted on the AI as checkboxes to use or lose as needed.) Heres an example from Chat GPT.
Title Slide (30 minutes) - Project title, company logo, and presentation date.
Agenda (20 minutes) - Overview of the slide topics.
Problem Statement (45 minutes) - Description of the cybersecurity challenges faced.
Objectives of AI Security Effort (45 minutes) - Goals and expected outcomes of the initiative.
Methodology (60 minutes) - Detailed explanation of the AI techniques and strategies used.
Implementation Timeline (60 minutes) - Key milestones and phases of the project.
Results Overview (60 minutes) - High-level summary of the results achieved.
Detailed Findings (90 minutes) - In-depth analysis of key successes, supported by data and visuals.
Case Studies / Success Stories (90 minutes) - Real-world applications and the impact of the AI security effort.
Challenges & Solutions (60 minutes) - Discussion of any obstacles encountered and how they were overcome.
Next Steps (45 minutes) - Recommendations for future actions and ongoing security efforts.
Q&A / Contact Information (30 minutes) - Invitation for questions and slide with contact details for follow-up.
Wouldnt that be cool?

Where is Akiflow on this feature? I'm about to switch back to Sunsama because of this, sub-tasks and multiple calendar chunks.
Stefania
Aglaé: Hi! We're designing a pomodoro timer and stats right now, I'll keep you posted about the time tracker. What do you mean by "multiple calendar chunks"?
R
Ryan
Stefania: ugh pomodoro timers…. It would be nice to just track the time. Even if the timer spans over multiple days. I get the theory behind pomodoro timers but…. I hope I’m not Forced to use that to track time :(
Stefania
Ryan: absolutely not, I understand they have different purposes, I just wanted to let you know we are moving in that direction, I'll let you know if we start working on this :)

Stefania I agree with Ryan, Pomodoro timer is second to time tracking on my plate. By multiple calendar chunks I mean the following: Sometimes a task/project will take more than the 2 hours I have available for it today, so I'd like to assign another 2 hours tomorrow; but I still want both chunks to show in my calendar and count towards time spent on said task. Does that make sense? Sunsama has a fair solution for this: https://help.sunsama.com/docs/dealing-with-multi-day-tasks

As one who’s between Sunsama and Akiflow, i have to say i’m realizing the timer and pomodoro features of sunsama are vitally helpful. I’d LOVE to see Akiflow add this as you have several features I love, too. The timer/pomodoro really helps me focus, and the time tracking really helps me estimate task time far better. (If you can aim longterm for the AI-assisted estimates, those turn out to be really helpful, too, but just the timer would be a huge help.) Thank you! I know you have a lot you’re working on.
